Tomasz Zyrmont - pianist, composer and educator based in London.

​

He has garnered recognition through his participation in prominent events like the London Jazz Festival, East European Jazz Festival, Yamaha Music Live, Wigmore Lates, and the Jazz FM Discovery Show.

 

Tomasz graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music, Katowice, Poland, where he honed his jazz piano skills under the guidance of Wojciech Niedziela. He furthered his education at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, studying with Nikki Iles. 

 

The pianist has showcased his talents at a diverse range of venues across his home country of Poland and internationally in the United Kingdom, Germany, USA, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. His performances have graced prestigious venues including the British Parliament in London, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels, the World Travel Market in London, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, 606 Club, Boisdale of Canary Wharf, Yamaha Music London, Tate Modern, LuxExpo in Luxembourg, and the Blueboat Jazz Festival in Germany.

He stands as the leader of the Groove Razors, an electric group he founded in London. Under his leadership, the band has released two albums, showcasing Tomasz's original compositions. The band is composed of musicians: Alan Short, Nick Svarc, Laurie Lowe. Their music has garnered positive attention from numerous radio stations, clubs, and promoters.

Tomasz also established the Tomasz Zyrmont Trio, which was extended the honor of performing at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and engaging in festivals, including Polish Music Week, Wigmore Lates, and the South Social Film Festival: MEETS POLAND.

He has played with a multitude of artists from around the world, including distinguished names such as Alex Hutchings, Tony Kofi, Yaron Stavi, Piotr Wojtasik, Krzysztof Urbanski, Adam Baldych, Wojciech Pilichowski, Francesco Mendolia, Dean Mongerio, Ant Law, Kevin Glasgow, Sean Khan, Kuba Cywinski and Flavio Li Vigni.

In 2022, Tomasz initiated the Interphase quartet - a boundary-pushing acoustic ensemble with a contemporary jazz emphasis. A testament to his international reach, this project emerged from collaboration with accomplished saxophonist, producer, and co-leader Sean Khan.

​

His compositions have been broadcasted on a multitude of radio stations, including Jazz FM, Polish Radio Station London, Belgrade 202, Radio Jazz.Fm, Wnet FM, Resonance FM, RMG FM, Diverse FM, Peterborough FM, and Near FM Dublin.

​

Tomasz has had the honor of performing a Silent Piano concert for the Yamaha company, as well as playing a piano set before Hiromi’s exclusive concert and participating in several concerts with his Groove Razors band.

​

Beyond his performances, Tomasz curates a vibrant series of jam sessions - Jazz at POSK, where he consistently graced the piano with his artistry and contributed to various projects since many years. 
 

Tomasz is both a member and one of the co-founders of the Association of Polish Jazz Musicians in London.
